Our Panel Products

Q-Mark Plywood

The International Plywood Group is the exclusive UK Importer and Distributor of “Q-Ply” Chinese Q-Mark Plywood. “Q-Ply” Structural Quality Panels are designed to give you peace of mind when specifying plywood for walls, roofing and flooring applications. The Q-Mark structural plywood scheme is a third party product certification scheme operated by BM TRADA Certification Ltd. The scheme covers factory production control, documentation and test assessment evidence. The resultant certification is specific to clearly defined products and their constituent components. One of the main objectives of the scheme is to provide specifiers, regulators and inspection authorities with the appropriate information to be able to identify suitable products for structural use. “Q-Ply” meets the requirements of EN636-3S and EN314-2 Class 3. We can offer “Q-Ply” in 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 22mm and 25mm thicknesses. The standard sheet size is 2440mm x 1220mm.

Brazilian Plywood

We stock both Hardwood Plywood and Softwood Plywood from Brazilian manufacturers in a full range of sizes and thicknesses. We also hold stocks of Medium Density Overlaid (MDO) panels which are suitable for concrete formwork.

Chinese Plywood

Chinese Hardwood Faced Panels offer a good quality face veneer and the poplar core makes the plywood lighter than similar panels constructed of other hardwoods. The surface is good for painting and veneering. We also offer “hardwood throughout” panels from China for applications requiring a stronger product.

Far Eastern Plywood

Far Eastern plywood products are generally made from tropical hardwood and are produced by reputable manufactures in Malaysia and Indonesia. A full range of sizes and grades including structural panels are available from stock. We are also able to supply to special order, cut-to-size, pre-painted and flame retardant panels.

Birch Plywood

Available in a range of sheet sizes, thicknesses and veneer grades, Birch Plywood is widely used in joinery and packaging applications. The multi laminated construction and consistent quality of the veneers ensures the strength and stability of the panels.

Softwood Plywood

From temporary hoardings to top quality flooring and concrete formwork, softwood panels are fit for purpose. The cheaper grades of panels are unsuitable for demanding applications, whilst top quality panels would normally be too expensive for general purpose work. Therefore, we stock a range of panels which will cover most requirements, including structural work where a structural panel has been specified.

Speciality Plywood

We hold stocks of French Okoume Plywood which is widely used in high quality joinery, as is Flexible Plywood which is available in long grain and cross grain. A full range of film/MDO faced panels can also be supplied which are aimed at the concrete formwork and vehicle body building markets but which are also suitable for other applications where a smooth faced panel is required.

Chipboard

Chipboard is generally available in Standard Grade, which is normally about 650kg/m3 density, and Flooring Grade which is about 720kg/ m3 density. Standard grade is widely used in furniture manufacturing and general joinery, particularly where the boards will be “hidden” under a veneer or laminate. Flooring grade is produced as a square-edged panel but is also available with a tongued and grooved profile. Flooring Grades are classed as either P4 for interior use only, or P5 which can be used where moisture resistance is required e.g. bathroom floors.

MDF

Medium Density Fibreboard offers smooth surfaces and a uniformly dense core, which make it suitable for cutting, machining and moulding. It is also widely used in furniture manufacture and can be veneered, laminated or painted to offer a range of finishes. Standard MDF is unsuitable in applications where panels are exposed to moisture; in these cases MR grade MDF should be used. International Plywood stocks a full range of sizes in both grades to ensure that the right product is available for our customers at all times.

OSB

Orientated Strand Board has many packaging and sheathing uses where a solid faced panel is required. The product is made to very strict manufacturing tolerances, is easy to cut and can be painted to give a durable finish. We stock OSB 2 (Standard Grade) and OSB 3 (Conditioned Grade) which offers greater stability in moist conditions.

Blockboard

One of the advantages that Blockboard offers when compared to Plywood and MDF is its relative lightness. The density of the boards are largely determined by the types of timber used for the core blocks. Blockboard is suitable for interior use only.

Hardboard

We stock a full range of Standard, Perforated, White Painted and Oil Tempered grades. Hardboard is commonly installed as a floor covering but can also be used in a wide range of panelling and cladding applications. Easy to cut and fix, Hardboard can also be painted.

Other Fibreboards

We hold stocks of Ivory Faced Insulation Boards and a range of Sundeala Boards. These are graded A for exterior use and either K or Class 1 FR for interior use. Sundeala is particularly useful for notice boards, office partition screens and similar applications.
